# STEM

STEM (https://stem.audio) is a web app for bands and music collaborators. Each member uploads their parts as audio stems (individual tracks such as vocals, drums, bass, guitar), and the group listens to them together in a shared mixer console, leaves timed comments, and decides on the direction of the song. Tagline: "Upload stems. Discuss. Iterate."

STEM is deliberately not a DAW (digital audio workstation). It does not record or edit audio. It focuses on the review and decision-making step: sharing full stems, discussing them, and iterating on versions, with access control for collaborators and external listeners.

- **Secure sharing**: Generate secure share links with customizable permissions. Share publicly or keep private to band members.
- **MP3 song renders**: Render all your stems into a single MP3 of the full song. Save snapshots as the mix evolves, then export and listen anywhere — phone, car, or share with anyone.
- **Lists & setlists**: Group related songs into lists — albums, EPs, setlists, or work sessions. Playable, and shareable with the same granular permissions as individual songs.
- **Song attachments**: Attach lyrics, chord charts, reference tracks, session notes, and any supporting files directly to a song so your team has everything in one place.
- **Own & shared, side by side**: Quickly switch between the songs and lists you own and the ones shared with you. No more digging through links or inbox threads.

## Pricing

All plans include every feature, unlimited collaborators, private projects, and sharing with anyone. On the Free plan each song can have one MP3 render and one attachment at a time; paid plans have unlimited renders and attachments, more stem storage and priority support. No credit card is required to start on the Free plan.

- **Enthusiast** ($5/month): up to 500 stems
- **Pro** ($10/month): up to 2,000 stems

## How it works

1. Sign in with a Google account at https://stem.audio/login.
2. Create a song and upload one audio stem per track.
3. Invite band members with view or edit permission, or create a share link.
4. Mix in the browser, leave timed comments on tracks or the master track, and attach lyrics or reference files.
5. Render the mix to MP3 and group songs into lists (albums, EPs, setlists).
